VLD Hunting 7MM-08 loads

Hi everybody, Is it to late to comment here? I have been shooting a7mm08 since 1995 and love it. I started reloading a couple of years ago and doing good. I have found a lot of good useful info here keep up the good work everyone.

RL 17 will likely get you top velocities with a 140 class bullet, I get a hair over 2900 fps shooting a 139 LRX in a 24" brl.

For another 7-08 with a 19" brl, I use Varget and a 120 NBT for around 2960 fps

These are both very accurate and well below max pressure in my rifles.

@MudRunner2005 thats an interesting concept of real heavy bullets. If you could use an AICS binderless mag, you could load the 180 hybrid at 2.950" and leave some powder room. Wonder what kind of velocity you could get?

I'd guess around 2,500-2,600 FPS MV with Varget or CFE 223.

N540 has been showing me some very good results with the 140.

IMR-4064 and Varget are provably the best out there for the 7mm-08 with the 140gr class bullets.

RL17 will give you more speed but I haven't been able to get good accuracy out of it.
