I'm running a 300 rum 26inch barrel with 230 grain bergers at 3150. Without pressure signs. Not sure why I wouldn't be able to easily get 3200 with a 195 and a longer tube..
I guess I'm looking for more realistic velocitys for the 195. Is 3200+ possible
7 RUM 26" 9 twist 143 grain Hammer Hunter with HBN 3,630fps with Reloder 26My current go to mountain rifle here in the west is a 7RUM, 180gr Bergers at around 3150fps, shoots .4moa, 26" barrel, custom barrel contour indexed brake, Rem 700 Alaska Ti clone action and barrel, mcmillian edge stock, March 3-24x42 scoped weighting just under 8lbs. It's a dream to shoot, around a 243ish recoil.
sorry but its actually happening!!! SUCKS yours doesn't but that doesn't mean others cant or wont!!!My 7 RUM. Stiff load of 50 BMG, 29 inch Benchmark. 180 VLDH, 3300 fps. Hard on brass. 3 firings.
I doubt you would get 3200 fps with a 195 Berger
I've been thinking about doing a big 7 of some flavor. Was curious if anyone has a 7 rum throated and actually taking advantage of the 7 rum. With a 195 curious what your velocitys actually are.
Hornady is well known to greatly overstate their BC's, it may be .401 at a higher velocity so they are technically partially correct but BC is and average , note how Sierra show BC for their 7mm 180;Not a big 7 but I do run a 7 SAUM with the 180 ELD-m. Talk about efficiency! Realistically if you run the 180 eld-m instead of the 195 you pick up velocity AND higher BC. The 195 eol is listed at G1 0.754 and G7 0.387 while the 180 eld-m is G1 0.791 and G7 0.401 With the new 190 A-tip the numbers will only be higher! Maybe do a build around that new bullet?

So I guess your really really sorry.
Barrel life isn't really a concern it's going to be strictly for hunting if I get 500 rounds so be it. Barrels are easy to replace.
