I loaded up some to test tomorrow. I went with the H4895 first, simply because of the case fill on the 4350's. I'm gonna start at 38 and work my way up. I'll let everyone know the results

I have had great luck with Hornady150 eldx getting around 2800fps out of 22' barrel .5 or better @100
7mm08 150 Hornady eldx
46.3 Ramshot Big game
Fed 215m
Winchester brass
Load is near max, so work up.

Hey Buck, have you taken any game with the 150gr ELD-X?

I got a nice 0.5" group with 45.5gr of RL17, Nosler brass and GM210M. I'm somewhere around 2,750 fps.

I have some factory loaded 150 ELDX that I'm also gonna shoot tomorrow to see if it likes them, and to free up the brass

with 140 gr bullets , nothing makes velocity like RL17 . I use it with 140 bergers . if you can find it buy a pound .

For accuracy and speed, Big Game seems to be the ticket in the 7mm08 with bullets 120 to 150

RL17 edges Big Game a bit on velocity, between 20fps and 50fps more based on the manuals I've been reviewing. But I have found RL17 a little harder to find good groups with. I have not tried Big Game yet.

Yes 3 Whitetails 1 @ 20 yards 1 @ 80 yards and 1 @265 yards bullet preformed well, 2 went straight down, high shoulder shot and one @ 265 double long shot went 20 yards and fell over all bullets existed. The eldx seem to work great out of the 7mm08's they are a little on the soft side, prefect for deer.

I had the same problem with RL 17 good speed, not so great in the accuracy department..

Loved this thread as one does not usually see much reloading info on 7-08. My experience with H4350 was that it is a compressed load especially if shooting 150 eld-x with the boatail pressing down on the powder column. I have had good luck with the IMR 4064 and the imr 4350. Thanks for the other powder suggestions as I have been thinking of trying Win 760 to get the velocity up a little on the 139 and 140 gr. bullets. I have had the sst and 150 eld-s come apart on a angle frontal shoulder shot where I hit bone but were always instance drop dead kills, was just lucky that a fragment would take a third of the heart. Those shots were over 300 yards. Kinda leaning towards the partitions, interbonds and barnes in the future. Anyways I think the 7-08 is a heck of a mid range (500 and under) deer round. My favorite cartridge in a light weight rifle.
