6mm ARC vs 6mm Creedmoor Shorty?

This is a 108 Berger EH out of an 18" Benchmark CF in 6 creed. 4350 is the powder I'm running and no doubt RL26 would run faster. Haven't played with it in the 18" RL26 has proven to run ~80fps faster in my 22" 6 creed

Having a chat with a buddy the other day who insisted that a 16" 6mm ARC would outperform a 16" 6mm Creedmoor using the same bullet... (both in bolt guns)

Can somebody else help explain this? My "buddy" is an avid reloader and gun nut, but on paper when I crunch numbers the creedmoor would still outperform the arc by quite a bit based on factory Hornady 108 Eld-M ammo

I currently have a 26" 6 creed barrel but would like to spin on another in 16 or 18" to be a little handier for Texas deer/hog hunting

I can very loosely agree Apples to Apples with your buddy. If you take a 6mm Arc & the 6mm Creedmoor load both with 108 grain ELD match bullets over 26 grains of H4895 in both cartridges Id dare say with a good degree of confidence that the 6mm ARC would out perform the 6 Creed every day of the week.

But what if you're at 16,000+ feet and it's a leap year?

Worst comparison ever.

Ok lets say it is a leap year & we have a 100 round shooting match at 16,000 feet. Now we are each allotted 100, 100 gr Hornady spire point bullets & 3000 grains of CFE223 powder to load either a 6mm arc cartridges or a 6mm Creedmoor cartridges. Match takes place on February 29th 2024 at an improvised range near mount Denali at 16,000 feet. No targets will exceed 500meters.

With that allotment of powder and bullets Which cartridge will consistently perform best at this 100 round match on February 29th 2024 at an improvised range near mount Denali at 16,000 feet.
