6 creed or 6 GT?

I have a friend that goes to Montana every few years, and the guy he hunts with that lives there shoots the 6mm CM. The guy in Montana hits stuff way, way, way out there with his. I think he probably shoots a lot to pull off the stuff my friend watches him do every time he goes up there. He is so impressed it's on his list of builds, and to be honest I'm seriously considering one myself.

I have no experience with the 6 gt, but the 6 creed cruising at 3050 is a dream to shoot(which is my prs rifle). Brass will last a long time at that velocity because your not leaning on it. 6 gt at that velocity your starting to push it. 6 gt was made for prs running the 105s around 3000 fps. So if this is a straight up prs gun I'd opt for the gt probably and run 105s or 109s around 2950.

I have fallen in love with the 6 Creedmoor! THE easiest round I have ever reloaded; and I have been reloading for over 40 years. It shoots flat, bucks the wind, low recoil, VERY accurate! I run 108s, 105s at 3000fps. I shoot steel at 975 yards with it. No problem! Long brass and barrel life, too. You can get very good factory ammo. Barrel twist needs to be 1-8 or 1-7.5 and mine are 26" long. There's more pluses for it, but those are some of my reasons to have 3 bolt rifles and an AR in it!

I bought a Ruger American in 6CM even though I have a .243 I shot for years. Cheap rifle with some upgrades to the trigger and a magpul stock. Main reason was because of the factory fast twist barrel and perceived longer brass life without the trimming.
Definitely the easy button as the rifle would shoot 1/2 moa right out of the box before upgrades during breakin.
I got a little lazy and haven't started loading for it yet because the 103 and 108 factory ammo is so accurate. Ridle
Shows great promise and I hope to bring down the group size even more with reloads.
Going to try the Berger 105 VLDs since I have them already on hand. MDT makes a magazine that will allow you to get close to the lands with no issue. Lots of fun.

From a guys who's burned a handful of gt and creed barrels, a 24" 6gt is comfortable with 105-112gr bullets at 2920-2960. A 26" barrel can run the 3030 node but it's warm. I run mid to low 2900s in my 28" prs rig as it's low pressure. A 6creed is mid node of 3050, and top node 3130-3150. They'll go over 3200 with rl26. You're talking a case of 46gr capacity to one with 53. There's quite a difference there. However 105 hyb kill very well at 2950fps mv out to 600y in my testing on deer and Antelope. Used the 108 elite in 6cm this year to kill lots of game from 400-730y, with a muzzle velocity of 3050. The gt will run that bullet at 2940 easily, and have the same comparison performance at 650y. A 6gt, is extremely easy to load for, drop 36.3-36.7gr of H4350 with a 105-112gr bullet, testing 10k 20k 30k 40k seating depth, pick the best, verify at 400y on paper. Go shoot stuff. I'm on my 5th? Gt pipe, and every one has done just that. One I ran 115dtac at 2860 with 35.3gr H4350.
