I wouldn't be using h4350, maybe with a 130-140 in that cartridge. I have had good luck with retumbo with the 156. I would start at 54.5 and work up

Well, as you are probably aware, the 6.5 PRC has nearly identical case capacity to the 6.5-284 (depending on your COAL, you might even have more capacity in the 6.5-284. Hodgeon has all sort of data for the 153 Hornady bullet in the 6.5 PRC. The velocities are all slower than I have read from many threads, but at least you have something to go by.
I played with QL for my 6.5-284 with H1000, Retumbo, RL-26, H5831 Norma MRP, Ramshot Magnum and none really resulted in the sweet spot of "100% case fill at max pressure" (I have too many powders).
So I went out and bought a jug of Staball HD..... Another form of addiction, re-enforced by the years of powder shortages.....

I use RL26 with Berger 156s in the 6.5x284....it does well and Im sure will work just fine with the 153s.
Except rl26 is harder to find than an honest politician. I would stay away from any load development with that powder. Develop loads with powder you can actually buy.

I agree, and I have started to go back and redevelopment all of my RL26 loads with H1000. Most.of the cartridges with 50+ grains of powder are just as good onnthe accuracy and consistency, and only around 50-75 FPS slower.
