The 308 will kick too much in my opinion.

A .308 Win suppressed is very pleasant to shoot even for a 6 year old shooter.

I'm looking for low recoil and it will be used with a silencerco harvester

That's a good point. Not sure if he is in a state which allows that. I was thinking no suppressor or brakes.

I did a reduced recoil load for a young girl a few years ago , it shot well . if you decide on a 308 I can dig up some reduced info if you need it .
