6.5 PRC - RE16 - 124 Hammer

I decided I am saving the N570 for my RUM and the 245...
For Sure ! I'm doing that with Retumbo and N570. I have a good load for my 300 Rum with 215 Berger and N570. I put a 28 in. Bartlien conture barrel on it. The old Barrel loved Retumbo and 185 VLD's and Barnes 180 TTSX. I haven't even tried Retumbo in it yet ! ADG/GunWorx brass. Fed 215 match . Very low es and sd.

The tiny group I posted in post #7 (using 130gr Sierra TMK & RE26) was repeated yesterday with another sub .25moa group @ 400yds. It's going to be hard to shoot anything else out of this rifle.

BTW - I bought the rifle from CalFarmer here on LRH. I thought I'd give him a plug as a seller. :D

I know this thread has been quite for a couple of months but… I just ordered a sample pack of 124 hammers. I called & talked to them to see if they had any suggestions for load data. I told them what powders I had to try & they told me to use Hornady's load data. They mentioned hornadys 120,123 & 129s I used data for the 120-123's. It had all my powder I wanted to try minus the h1000. The 129s did however list the h1000.

I'm getting ready to try some IMR4955. I'm running RL26 but it's been all over the place with pressure due my shooting environment in Az. Late fall, winter and spring no issues but I can't shoot it now. Pressures up as it's not temp stable at all.

@Varmint Hunter did you figure something out?

I shoot re23 a lot in the prc with either cci200 or fed 210m……never had good luck with magnum primers in mine. 54.4g Re23, cci200 with 125 BB at 3155fps…..knocked a mature white tail doe down at 650 last season. I could go faster but the dreaded prc chamber click/stick issue has me holding back.

I moved on to trying other bullets just to keep my interest up. I was able to get a few boxes of Hornady 143 ELD-X bullets. The first 3 rounds out of the barrel using RE26 grouped into 1.99" @ 400yds. (416yds actually). I've fine tuned the load and will see where that goes this week.

Nice. I'm going to work up some loads for several bullets. 124 hammers, 127 Barnes, 130 accubond & 140 vld
