6.5 PRC 156 load development

210M's beat everything I tested on my last barrel also. Thanks for saving me some time. Two kids under two are keeping me off the range and out of the hills quite a bit this fall!

Wow that seems warm! I ran my last Seekins barrel up to 58.4 H1000 with a 147, but a grain more with a 156 has got to be top end!

I fired some 156's on the third firing if ADG brass yesterday at 4 degrees and had a significant click on all. Third firing on ADG brass. Fired brass measures 5.3405-15, and brass ran through the sizing process twice measured 5.3245-70. Hornady says spec is .532 and fail to acknowledge a problem. They sent me a return label and said they would evaluate the die. Knowing what I know, it sounds like a waste of time to send it in, if they think it's fine to size to .532. @rfurman24, they told you it should size to .529? Hornady has always been great, but the man I spoke to on the phone today was rather condescending and rather unhelpful. Did you ever get somebody to make you a die that will size the base correctly?

I will be sending brass off to Redding when I find a spare minute to get a custom sizer. When it is complete I would assume they will sell others to the public but I will have to be the guinea pig.

I just got off the phone with Forster. Their die is spec'd to size the base to .5295, where Hornady is allegedly.532. Forster is not currently making a bushing die for the PRC, but they offer custom honing for $15. They're going to gauge a few things to be sure, but they're confident they can get me a die that will bump the case down adequately, and I'll only work the neck .004 on a full length die after custom honing. I've had good luck with their other dies, and after this conversation I can say I was quite happy with their customer service. I will report back after I get the new die set up.

Hornady once fired brass
.5325 fired .531 sized
12 reloads
.5335 fired .5315 sized
this is Hornady dies both bushing and non bushing dies with there brass.
have some gunwerks loaded but waiting on weather to test.
also running h-1000 but only 57.8 with 147s and 57.0 with 153s have not shot any bergers yet

I'm wondering if Hornady just had a run of dies that got a little out of spec at some point.
I have Lee, Redding, and Hornady all doing the same thing. I also have a 300 PRC doing the same thing. Pressure should be hard bolt lift not just a click at the top and my primer pockets are not loose after 5 reloads.
