Because of the case design and length the potential/versatility of the case to be necked up or down is obvious. I am not talking full on wildcat stuff like shortening the case or neck or changing the shoulder angle. As a 7 prc it strikes a good balance of caliber to case capacity. And I am sure the 7prc will be faster than the 6.5-7prc with the same weight bullet. My thinking is that for a long range, easy button type of cartridge that has the desired neck length, powder column and case capacity for the 6.5 bore diameter,it is ideal. Disclaimer, not recommended for the short barrel rifle enthusiast, .264 haters, short range shooters, overly concerned with barrel life crowd, full blown " must modify everything wildcatter. Wow after that disclaimer I might be the only one left.
