375 Mercenary

Hello Swamplord,

Have you fired the 338 Merc yet? Sorry if you have updated the PRO facebook page with this information but I cannot access FB from here.
Thank you,

THEIS

The brass I made from the 585 Nyati cases is designated for load development in the 375 Mercenary and when I'm done, most of it is going to a collector that offered a crazy amount of $$ for it,

no worries though, I ordered a bunch extra of the 375 Merc brass for messing with the 338 and 416 Mercenary cartridges, funds are in Bertrams hands for the group brass order and a case gauge made with my reamer has been sent to Bertram to ensure we get 100% ready to load and shoot brass, it should be arriving in early April or so and I will be necking some to 338 and 416 cals, already have the dies and expanders for that job, reamer has been sent to die maker to make micrometer seater dies and resize reamer is enroute as well for making the bushing sizing dies for all the guys that participated in the group order,

we are in fact now accepting orders for the second run of 375 Mercenary brass that will occur once we reach the min required amount set by brass manufacturer..... send email to [email protected]

The 375 Mercenary has a bigger, older brother !

Well, bigger and older is definitely right!

It's like an ancient old champion warrior that needs an armor bearer and wheel chair to get around!!!

The old Ma-Deuce has always been a crew-served weapon. They are a joy to behold though. gun)

I'm thinking your 375 Merc - the soon-to-be heavy-weight champion-of-the-2K world - is a far more *interesting* platform!!! :D

Hello,

But the 375 and 408 has had semi auto style for over 10 years now.

No semi auto design has ever 100% solved the problem of dinging projectile tips on the CT cartridges.

yes sir, that's why I said "proprietary design" ..... only one of it's kind built and there are plans to incorporate the 375 Merc into it, one of the reasons we scrapped the belted case 375 Warlord, the belt was a problem and the other issue was the case was too long if any capacity gains were to be expected over the 375 SnipeTac in a semi auto, the 375 Mercenary case solved all that ,

the 375 Warlord has been completely redesigned and the belted case has been permanently deleted and only one 375 Warlord design now exists, a beltless, longer, higher capacity case for single shot rifles only .... all previous prints are now defunct, extinct ...

the 375 Warlord is back, bigger and meaner with brass support in progress , more to come soon

Thanks, Now that yanks my crank. 375 Barrett of some sort is something
I've been pondering for several years now off and on.
What is a "typical" load for the 375B-imp ?

Only real drawback, if you can call it a drawback, is the action, but I've
wanted a 50-cal action anyway.

The 375 Barrett Improved wildcat cartridge and proprietary action/rifle system was developed and built by my gunsmith at Last Frontier Custom Guns of Alaska and I'll have to get his permission to post data, I'll be seeing him at a gunshow this weekend and get some valid info and get some pics of the rifle ..

That would go great in my rifle.

He was running a mild load with 330 gr Lehigh bullets at 3700 fps in a 30" 10 tw Kreiger barrel, plans are to go with a 7.5 tw 36" barrel for the heavy Cutting Edge MTAC bullets .....

Sure you need a 50 cal action, but that is in your favor because you can run multiple barrels !
You can have an extra barrel in 50 BMG , as shown in pic next to the 375 Barrett Improved rifle, and/or have barrels in 416 Barrett and my wildcat the 460 Zeus (458-416 Barrett Improved)

Something WICKED this way comes !

Here is a switch barrel option for the guys that are building s 375 Mercenary .. roll on another barrel with no other changes needed .....

The 420 Enforcer is an ongoing year long project that is finally becoming reality, Mark Fox and I have jumped some hurdles getting here but now the proper twist/groove/length .423 caliber barrels are in the works, a 505 gr ELR prototype bullet is here with 3 more bullet weights enroute ....

Some will ask , why .423 caliber ?

Mark and I figured that 2016/2017 is the peak of the .375 cal in case design, capacity and bullet weight/bc etc ... nowhere left to go .... except up in bullet diameter and case capacity ..... the 408 and 416 cal were already in use as were the 458 and 510 cals, we wanted a bullet diameter that could be pushed faster and have higher bc/weight than the 416 but not overly fat in diameter as to require excessive bullet weight/length to generate .900 - 1.00 bc's

.423" cal is also known as .404 cal as in .404 Jeffery and .404 Dakota and bullets exist but in typical dangerous game, close range bullet profiles, after doing some extensive number crunching in regards to bullet diameter/weight/length and the required case capacity to drive these bullets we have concluded that somewhere north of 230 gr was about right but it had to work on the CheyTac boltface/actions .........

the end result is the 420 Enforcer, case shown in photo is a die formed case and shoulder/neck will be fireformed into place once we have a barrel chambered, pic is an example to let all our friends on WCCR know some of what we are up to .....

We also have the 420 Blitzkrieg reamer enroute, this giganto exceeds the capacity of the 416 Barrett by a good click and then some, although it does not require the 50 BMG actions it is based on the coming .800" bolt single shot Rem clone in the works ....
