Running Bertram brass. Always used 375rum brass before that with great results. I shot the 300smk then the 300 Berger but wanted to try the 285 and 270. 285 was great but I ran out.
I don't have an edge, thought building one but my 338 rum is doing fine. 285 eld-m with 86.0 of rl 26 produced 2886 fpsNot a 338 Edge, but similar. My H1000 338 RUM load with 270 ELD-X came together at 87.5 grains with a CCI250. Nosler brass, bullet seated .020" off the lands. OAL 3.805"
Weren't you running 270s with RL26 at great speeds and tight groups earlier in the year? If I recall, they were 0.100 off the lands?i follow these threads closely for info as my 338 rum will be done soon, it'll have a 28" barrel. Not a 338 Edge, but similar. I wish I could find an 8# jug of H1000 or two!Yes. That's my RL26 load with a 270 ELD-X seated .110" off. It's common for me to have a primary and secondary load. The difference in velocity is 50 fps, which is normal between RL26 and H1000.
I'll do that once I narrow it down. ThanksI would do .003 increments for seating depth changes. Its very easy to skip over a sweet spot.
H1000 and try 285 eldm...had no luck with 270 either...View attachment 156533 Not having any luck with the 270s and r33. Think I'll try another powder cause this combo isn't showing much promise. Base load of 100.5 r33 f215 primers and 3 shots of each coal. It's only 3 shots, but I've tried enough of these to know the rifle doesn't care for this combo. Ideas welcome
