300 wsm vs prc build help

I fell down the short barrel rabbit hole a few years back. Built a 7rem mag on a defiance ruckus long action, proof 20" sendero light, manners eh1. I'm shooting 168 vlds at 3010 through a tbac ultra 7. The riffle continues to amaze me and has proven itself time and time again to be more than capable.

This year I couldn't leave well enough alone. Bought another anti x medium, proof 30 cal blank and ended up with a 300wsm finished at 19". Put all the goods into a hnt26 and I have been extremely happy with the results thus far. Haven't had the time to do much load work up. I had some 180 accubonds laying around that shoot well into the 1/2" range if not better. Interested to run some 212 lrxs through it this winter as I'm intrigued from the vortex video mentioned above.

Best of luck in your adventures

Buy yourself, a .300 WSM Tikka, and Chop the the Barrel Off at 20 or, Better Yet,. 22" ( IF, you Must ! ).
The .300 WSM, Will Be AROUND for, Decades to Come and In Alaska,.. Easier to Get,. Ammo / Brass !
Tikka has, the Correct Length, smooth Action FOR, the WSM's ( Just Buy, a Longer Magazine and different, Bolt Stop,.. IF, Desired ).
You Don't Need, an Expensive Custom Rifle to, Shoot / Hunt, Big Game @ 600 Yds or, Less at,.. normal,.. "Hunting Ranges".
My .270 WSM Tikka, always Printed, 140 gr. Bergers at, 3/4 MOA or, Better and,. Killed Elk, like,.."Lightning" !
You'll SAVE a Ton of Money with, the Tikka & THEN, Use the Savings for, a GOOD Scope and Ammo to,.. Practice with.

This is a 20" 300WSM I built with a 9 twist. Shoots 180-200gr bullets very well. Still breaking it in but I've got no worries reaching out to 800 yards at all.

Please forgive me for asking a question on someone else's post, but I'm looking at building a .300WSM using a long action mainly to shoot the Barnes LRX Bore Rider. My question, which magazine are you using to feed the 300WSM in the long action? Thanks and forgive my interruption, just not finding much info on this.
It feeds fine in 300prc/win mag magazines, no modifications necessary in drop floor plate style mag. As for standalone magazines like used in chassis rifles, I would think they would work fine but I don't have real world experience with those

EasyPeasy! If you need help finding an LH action PM me and I can point you in the right direction!

Are you sure you want to go with a short action? Thirty caliber bullets can get pretty long. I would think at least a medium action for 300 WSM.
I've considered that but my perspective is if I have to ditch a short action for a 300 wsm then the 300 wsm probably isn't the right choice. I think I can get what I'm looking to accomplish out of the short action and the caliber is a good one for short barrels. At the end of the day it's not my end all be all gun and I will only add to the collection!
