300 PRC Build

Does anyone know what bottom metal options are out there for a 300 PRC. I have a Greyboe stock being built for my 300 PRC build and was going to use there bottom metal long action for magazines. Is everyone using the mags with OAL of 3.85.

So I need a CIP compatible bottom metal and mags, 3.85"? There are a few different CIP bottom metals out there. If I use a Wyatt box is there any mods that need to be done to the action that you know of or do I just need my stock inletted for the bottom metal? Thanks for your time?

With a 700 action it will need to be cut for a wyatt box. I can not speak for all DBM set ups as I do not care much for them. Many of the bigger bullets will be around 3.8" seated at the lands of a SAAMI chamber.

Looking at the Wyatts, which one did you order? Lots of choices. Did you order the 338 Lapua setup or the 300 long?

You could use an accurate mag bottom metal. Kinda expensive but I think it will give you what you want. I'm not absolutely certain but if you purchase the correct wyatt's Box I think you will only have to moderately alter the bottom of the receiver and bolt stop. Do you want centerfeed of staggers feed? Mr Wyatt is very helpful but can be hard to get on the phone. The guys at accurate mag are also helpful and I got a hold of them pretty quick.

I think you could use the MBE-3 or CFE-12 if you go Wyatt's

Yes it is for hunting a rifle. Sorry to infiltrate the thread. I was just looking for some advice from current PRC builders as I am building a 300 PRC as the subject matter on this thread relates to. I had a prior thread and everyone kept telling me to build a Ultra Mag or a Win mag. Anyways.... I'll move on. Thanks

Please start a thread. It will help others as well. If for hunting I would use a Wyatt's box. The dbm will add too much weight. I would also tell you after having both the 30 Nosler is a better cartridge.

No problem by me, any good constructive rifle building/cartridge info is great especially for the 300 PRC
