Last three rounds during barrel break in with factory 212's. Going to stretch it's legs next week but I bought a good amount of the same lot so I'm going to keep the loads I copied from this thread and hang them up until I shoot these factory 212's out.

Went back out this AM again
5 rounds each at
79.2
79.5
79.8

Fired three shot groups at 623 yards then let barrel cool for about 1/2 hour between groups.
It was 47 degrees and slight left to right wind.
First was 79.2 which was .49 MOA

View attachment 147731

Then I fired 3 of 79.5 which was .41 MOA.
I was going to be off the paper with 79.8 so I dialed 1 MOA left before firing 3 of 79.8 which was .24 MOA

I had 5 each when I started so I fired the last two of each charge over the magnetospeed.
79.2 was 2958, ES 8
79.5 was 2984, ES 3
79.8 was 3003, ES 0

So I have two nodes, 77.5-78 at about 2900 FPS and 79.5-80 at about 2990 FPS.

Did You settle on a powder for the 300 PRC. 215 Berger . one over the other or they both close depending on rifle.
Lots of good information on both powder.
getting real close to loading for a new rifle and doing my research on powder.
have ample on RL26 and h1000

looking through this forum And others seems there is 2 good nodes at 2900 and 3000. Will be running ADG brass

thanks any information will aid.

My 30 SM shoots 215's great with .237" FB and its an improved prc. That said, .200" FB is enough for the 215 and would get your coal down to around 3.690" to the lands if you wanted it shorter

u were close. . To the lands was 3.7
settled with a Starting load of .020 Jump to the lands.
with this gave me clip clearance and very good bullet to case bit
load works start this weekend with h1000
those interested I'd share the jgs reamer print if wanted.
but 200th freebore is nice.

accuracy load for 300 PRC
24 inch with break
10t
ADG brass
bullet Length to tip is 3.682
25 thousands from lands
custom JGS reamer
215 berger
gun weight with scope 10.1 lbs
tested h1000, rl 26, and N570
all shot good but N570 won out
took out to 1 k. Yesterday group at 700 yards was 2.5 +\- inches. Verified this twice now. See below Pic
1k was 8 inches Group but Wind was getting me. First time really using n570 but gun really likes.
Im not comfortable shooting at 1k distance but I wanted to verify my dope at all ranges.
my loads development was 100 and 500 yards. N 570 shot repeatable 2-3 inch groups at 500. Last three Conographed groups with N570 powder was 2926, 29, and 2927. But what I've seen is +/- 8 FPS around that speed. That was on 1x fire formed brass. Everything bumped back roughly .001

no sticky bolts, flattened primers, no pressure sign other than an occasional ejector mark maybe one in 10 In which I really can't explain.
max shot groups is 3. Mostly just 2. Not gonna run this gun hot. Hunting gun and it's shoots good.

barrel count is at 110.

hope this helps someone.

note. Berger info for my gun was hot. I would deff start low and work up. I started much lower than what Berger recommended for N570 and Berger 215.

Your CBTO is longer than your base to tip? I think something is off.

sorry. I zero my CBTO out when I attach it to my mic. I'm thinking Add or subtract roughly 1 inch For the Hornady gauges depending on which one u use and if u zero it out . Wasn't thinking about that For you. I can see where it's confusing. Lol Guess its one of those things if ur doing it there vs not being there and trying to read in between what another person is doing.

update. Redone pictureS without zero out my mic. See above slides if needed

Freshening this thread. Looking to shoot 215 Hybrids with Re26 or H1000. Has any consensus emerged on best range of powder charge? I'm planning to test Re26 from 75-78 and H1000 from 78-81. Thanks in advance!
