When I get a Desert Tech (DTA) rifle I think one of the two calibers I order will be .300 Norma mag. due to its ballistic advantages over the .300 Win. mag.
I will also get a barrel, bolt and magazine in 6.5 Creedmoor as I already nave a Ruger American Predator in that cartridge. I'll then sell the Ruger. That cartridge means I can use the same bolt for .308 if I ever feel the need to get yet another barrel.
I could, instead of the 6.5 Creedmoor, get the 6.5/284 mag. for the ultimate reach without too much recoil and barrel burning. Decisions, decisions.
I'm waiting on a Carbon fiber Manners to finish up my .300 NM.
Left hand BAT HR
Broughton 5C 5.75 contour, fluted and threaded for a suppressor. 9 twist 24"
Carbon Manner T2A

Smithed by BAT machine... should be a killer!
The 300 norma is an awesome hunting round combined with a 230 grain berger your talking bad medicine for critters.
I had a snowy mtn rifles 300 norma for awhile and it was super accurate and awesome to shoot. Unfortunately a fella going through our shooting class fell in love with it and made me an offer I couldn't refuse I really think that for hunting it is an awesome choice.
There is a great article on the round here http://www.accuracy1stdg.com/content/docs/Binder7.pdf
GREAT POST 406
