300 Norma Mag Improved. Follow along!!!

Took mine out on its maiden voyage today and formed 50 rounds. At 93 degrees in the shade it was fun keeping the barrel from getting warm but with cool towels and my Chamber Chiller, I got it done.

She's a beauty!!! What was your fire form charge and how did the cases form for you? Also, how'd it shoot while forming?!
225 ELMD with 73 grains of N570 and fed215 primer loaded +.020 into the lands. Rounds formed good from what I can tell and most of the rounds were shot at a 6" round plate at 300 but I moved back to 100 for the last 3 rounds. So I'd say she's going to shoot.

Went out today just to put a second firing on some brass. Loaded up a quick ladder with 199 Hammers and N570. Found what should be a decent node between 88-89 grains at 3140-3175 fps. I'm still not pushing the brass hard and had plenty of room to go up.
88, 88.5, 89 all produced sub 1/2 moa groups at 300 yds. Pictured is the 89 grain group.

When I try to make other bullets shoot to my standards I burn through hundreds of dollars of components and begin to think something is wrong with the rifle. I then pick up some Berger's and instantly shoot bugholes. Your results mirror mine. I shoot better, I shoot
FYI. 245 Berger load work up is coming. Just in the process of getting some brass fully formed. Stay tuned!!! 😂

Seated the 220's barely into the case neck, which put them right up near the lands. Shot this 4 shot group, including the clean bore cold bore shot. So they obviously shoot fine, I just cant realistically seat them close enough to the lands as they are barely hanging in the case neck with the long throating of my rifle. I'll have my new barrel throated to shoot the 220's probably

Loaded up a pressure test ladder with hBN coated 245's and N570/CCI250's going out tomorrow to see if and where I find pressure.
Started at 87 and went to 92, they're loaded 20 thou off with a COAL of 3.745". Will post findings tomorrow.

917 yard cold bore, with an immediate follow up shot from the 300 NMI and 230 Hybrids. All the tips are drilled out on them now also. Velocities came in at 3005 & 3015. And my data was for 3044fps. So with the adjusted velocity in the ballistics it brings me up .1 Mil and centers the impacts up perfectly. She's ready for some killing. The copper impacts are from load testing another rifle.
