I paid my deposit on 10/28/21 and we are just waiting on the action but that should be arriving this month so I'm hoping to have my rifle in October…fingers crossed.

Reworked my load for my newest lot of Retumbo and the 230 OTM. 87.5 grs is going 3080fps with sd's of 8 and shooting 1/2" at 200 yds. Can't see a need to push it harder.

Can't beat that! I never thought about shooting the OTM. The inconsistent tips on the hybrids play hard on my OCD and I have a hard time getting past that lol.

Trim the meplats to true them a bit. We're talking like .007" off. I do it to my bergers I hunt with. Last bear I shot with 300 Tom's was violent to put it nicely. Softball size exit in the ribs.

Range update from yesterday evening! Went out with a clean barrel. Also 92gr. of N570 instead of 91gr. All of my ammo loaded .008 longer than my last accurate load, and I brought my mobile seater to the range to test seating depths just in case. I also loaded 3 extra deep at .06 deeper than the rest per a recommendation. Dropped my steel target and then took off driving down the road. Set up a target at 100 yards when I got to the end. Steel ended up ranging at 1016 yards.

I shot two foulers (lower left) then I shot 2 of the 3 deeper seated rounds (upper left). They didn't hit close enough to even shoot the third. Then I went to the rounds that were .008 longer than the last accurate load I tested. I shot a group that looked about 1/2 MOA through scope.

I went straight to the 1016 yard plate. Holding 3 MILS for wind. The first two shots were almost touching (high left). Then I came down .1 MIL and held .4 MIL for wind and sent a third one. I'm just going to drop my 100 yard zero .1 MIL and leave my data input the same.

These were last 6 rounds with all the same seating depths.

Obviously still a lot of verification since this was a pretty small data sample and not much time before it got dark. I was just really itching to get to the range haha. But in general it looks like I have at least a .015
1/2 MOA seating depth window I can be in. And pretty good velocities from the 225 ELDM.
