I ended up going with the ADG brass and the chamber was cut with a.244 neck and .2328 freebore to match the 300PRC freebore. I did the break in today and will start work on the LRX as time allows.
My 30 Nosler shoots the 215 hybrids well. The throat was cut based on a dummy round I provided to the smith. Turns out the throat length is similar to many others on this forum. I don't know how to cure a donut problem if it occurs. Haven't experienced that yet. I did have donut issues when I had a 243 win but they have a case stretch reputation. I used an inside reamer at that time for the donut.I have a question for everyone that builds rifles, how do you determine how much more Freebore you will need? Are you taking a 30 Nosler case and seating a particular bullet to a depth you want, maybe just above the shoulder junction or right at that junction to miss the dreaded donut that may be created? Or do you have a more specific method to determine the Freebore you need? I am very curious how people come up with one that works as good as I have seen on this thread.
Thanks.
