280AI Loads

I use a medium load of 4895,140 grain bullets and seat them out to the lands. It's easier just to buy the nosler brass. Recently I bought some Peterson brass, looks good, you may try that if they make it in 280AI. I think they do. I built my rifle when it was still a wild cat so I was forced to fire form my brass from 280 Rem.
Where did you find the Peterson brass?

I currently am using Nosler brass in my 280AI. Bought the Peterson brass for my 6.5x300. 100 pieces, sticker shock set in. Glad you found some Nosler brass. Fire forming is a pain.

It is hit or miss on most all supplies I was just able to get some US 869 powder last week.

Ive sourced quite a bit of Powders over the winter, still looking for Retumbo, I know i missed some on PV about a month ago and also Midsouth Shooters had Retumbo about a week or so again that missed.

I did the same thing with old 280 Rem cases. They were surprisingly good.

I am running low on just about everything. Primers are what I am worried about.

What are you going to load with the Retumbo?

Wanted to do a test run of RE23 since many spoke highly of it in the 280AI. I had an 8lb'er begging to have the seal broken thats been sitting around for over a year since I hadn't found anything to try it in. Been shooting a LOT of RE26 and RE33 lately. It proved to be the most accurate powder that I tried in my Kimber MA with 160 Accubond but did lack a little on the velocity end; about 140FPS less than RE26. I may be able to sneak another .5 grain in the case which would bring me within 100FPS of RE26. RE26 gave me 3 shot groups in the .6" range while RE 23 was around .3". If I was shooting Bench rest comp I would certainly be going with the RE23 loads but will probably stick with RE26 for hunting loads. As you can see the 143 Hammer Hunters didn't fair as well and hit pressure early. Are these RE23 loads comparable to what the rest are using. I couldn't find any data but used Quick Load to arrive at my best guess loads.
