Oops. Meant for James DeTorre.
My wife has been hammering elk with her 280 AI. 160 AB, 58 grains of Rldr 17, standard CCI 200 primers. Shoots 1/2 moa out to 600 yds and drops elk on the spot. Great load despite temp sensitive powder. We've had zero issues. Kimber Montana rifle, 3.560" coal I want to say. I will double check.Following this closely. Wanna use my 280ai on elk in 2023.
my best so far was with H1000 and 160 ABs. No H1000to be had. Have plenty of RL 26 to work with And some 140 HH.
Use magnum primers or not ?
Use magnum primers and go to powder in the range of 4350 with the 140g Absolute Hammer. I did well with rl16 and h100v.Following this closely. Wanna use my 280ai on elk in 2023.

Try a few loads of both. My 280s love magnum primers, 7868 and 160 gr Accubonds. My 280ai prefers standard primers and 7828 with 168 VLDs. Go figure!Following this closely. Wanna use my 280ai on elk in 2023.

I'm at 58.7 grains of H4831, 210M primers, Nosler brass, Hornady 162 SST, .030" off the lands, low .4 moa. That H4831 @58.7-8 must be a good node.I recently purchased a ts customs 280ai. I'm consistently getting es of 10 and around 4 sd's gun shoots .5moa all day.
