280 AI weird groups??

Mine is, along with the action... into a carbon fiber stock.
I have gone through the bases, rings, etc. Tried different action screw torque values and three powders, three primers, five bullets. Many seating depths.

The powders and bullets are all successful in my 280 Rems and 280ai rifles.

I've tried both. Both seem to behave the same, inconsistent. Yes.. I am using them interchangeably, but never in the same set. I've tried monos one day, ABs the next, then try the monos again a few days later.
Could the differences in alloys be causing it?
no idea, at least its consistent between the two. Try either thouroughly cleaning the barrel, or letting it foul before shooting for group size.

If you've only gone .010 in either direction with seating I would test from your longest coal down and see if it corrects. FyI I have done 3 criterions two are hammers one I am struggling with. Before you changed the barrel what did it shoot like. With Remingtons it's a crapshoot without having them trued up.

The 10 round dispersement group does give you a good view of overall performance, but if the 3 round spread is already 1.5" I'd be starting out beyond what I would accept for 10 rounds 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'll check the screws, lug position etc, clean the barrel and no commingle the monos.

Thanks
On my 700 the lug is bedded entirely in that area. Super tight fit.
Its good to try different brands but if I was having any issues I would only work with one bullet style at a time to isolate any barrel fouling possibilities.

In the early days of monos (talking of Barnes here), there seemed to be a direct correlation between cup and core fouled bore would not shoot Barnes. A thoroughly cleaning would generally remedy this. memtb
