280 AI ultralite cold bore shot issue

I have but never this severe.
I had one that severe. It was a pencil thin barrel. Always threw the first shot 1.5 moa off and nothing seemed to fix that. After the warm up shot it shot incredible groups. Since it's only suppressed when you experience it, it's got to be the weight of the can either bowing your barrel or adding some stress that goes away when it's warm? It will be interesting to see if you can eliminate it.

It would be worth calling Silencerco and talk to tech support. Most suppressors will have some impact shifts with and without the can but not like you describe. Also, if you have access to another suppressor try it.
🤔
I do I have a few other cans for him to try.

I have been researching a suppressor for my ar and there seems to be a fair amount that have a first shot "pop" and different poi from a cold first shot. Could be the issue as stated below from another member.

I am considering not even bothering with one. My rifle is a 556 so no real recoil, I would just really gain a little db reduction for $800+$200 stamp, 7" & 17 oz. To have a different poi from 1st to 2nd shot.
A cold suppressor is full of cold air, that first shot through it pushes the combustion gas and unburnt powder into a cold, dense air pocket. That generally causes a louder first shot as well as more turbulence and disturbance in the suppressor. Subsequent shots are hot air and the unburnt powder doesn't burn as intensely and is quieter and has less disturbance.

I have several suppressors and use them on multiple rifles. None of them have a significant POI difference from the first round. That includes three different SilencerCo and 4 different Dead Air suppressors.

Have you had anyone else shoot the gun? If you spent a lot of time on the rifle before getting the suppressor, the issue may be shooter induced (i.e you are anticipating recoil on the first shot due to muscle memory, and the rest of the shots are fine because you have "recency bias")
