High velocity, tough game, heavy for caliber Barnes!
I have had reliability issues with Barnes, I don't know if it was going too fast 3130fps. Shot a caribou 3 times around 120 yards. Found 2 unopened rifle holes and 1 quarter sized exit hole. With Hornady have not had any problems with bullet expansion. I do limit my shots to chest cavity ( soft tissue ) on entry. They always punch thru opposite shoulder blade. I just wait for my shot to open up. I try to save as much meat as I can.How would you compare the barnes and hornady against each other
I've been using a .270 Wby or .270 WSM ( Now have ) for the last 35+ years.Got a 270 Weatherby late last season I have never killed anything with it or that caliber just curious what would be a good weight . To use for hog/deer bullet and with a Lil luck possibly elk
Here's a 500-550 lb nilgai shot at 480 yds with the 117 Hammer Hunter at 480yds through both shoulders and a complete pass through DRT.Got a 270 Weatherby late last season I have never killed anything with it or that caliber just curious what would be a good weight .
