270 Weatherby bullet selection

Accubond, 140gr is my favorite for my 270 Roy. PM me and I'll send you a pic.

Mine also shoots 130 Partitions well but not my first choice.

Mine shot factory ammo better than 0.2 MOA at 100 yards so there was no reason before ammo prices got silly to try anything else.

Now, I am currently trying to work up a 124 Hammer Hunter load for the same. But it is August and I live in Texas so that experiment is still pending.

Yes, on the heat. A front was due but I see temp at 103 today. If I could talk a line I could be the weatherman. I'm making a run to Alpine shooting range to check on powder maybe find some ab's

Perfect timing on your post ! I shot my 270 Weatherby mag yesterday! ! I've been shooting the 150 Grn Accubond LR and getting some pretty good 3 shot groupes !! But I changed my mind and I decided I will use my go to deer bullets ! So I loaded my old 1980 load of 67.0 Grns of IMR 4350 with the 130 Grn Nosler. Ballistic tips!! 3300 fps!!! I used Game Kings back in 79 and 80!! They shot really well ,so I will use this load at the Long range shooting school Bang Steel, this year as well as the. Deer hunt in the bean fields on North Carolina !! The 150 Grn ABLR were really excellent at the long range school last year ,but this year I will try the 130 Grn !!! One picture is the two bullet holes touching in the bull at 100 yards , the second is three shots at 300 yards !! Center hole to center hole 1.318 inches ! If my math is correct that is less than 1/2 of One MOA!! For a 130 Grn deer hunting bullet ,out of a sporting Rifle ,that's not bad at all! My opinion of course !

If you can get some 156HH to try, I get crazy velocity out of my .270Win 27" Preferred Barrel, 1:8tw. I tapped out about 3300fps with RL26 and bet you can drive them heck of a lot faster in .270WBY. The G7 is 0.292 and so far my drops have been pretty close. I killed nice buck last year so I like the terminal I saw.

Won't work with a 10 twist.
