260 Rem Load Recipeies?

H4831SC has been my favorite with 120's and 140's as well.

Hunted with the 120 NBT this year accuracy with it has always been stellar. Game performance on deer sized game is excellent. Not to many DRT but they don't travel far.

Meant to shoot a few with the 120 tsx this year but my hunting area has changed

Bob

What kind of loads are you using with H4831sc and the 120 BT and TSX? Santa
brought me a 260 Tikka T3 Hunter. Breaking in the barrel with 120 BT's. Started
with 44.5g of IMR 4350. Under 2800 MV so far (still under 50 rounds through the tube). Really want to use 120 tsx's on white tails later this year in Texas.

I am using 120 NBT 48.5 gr H 4831 SC Rem 9.5 primers. The 120 TSX is 43gr H4350 and 9.5s. All brass is Lapua.

The TSX is not quite as accurate but I think it should be a stellar deer round 5 shots in .600 at 100.

Good luck and shoot straight

Bob

Finally got around to re-shooting and finding a load for the Barnes 127 LRX after I bedded and painted my Savage Model 10 early this spring.

127 LRX with 44.7 grains of Hodgdon Superformance running 2.248" Ogive with CCI 250 primers in RP brass.

Right around a 0.32" group. This was the first of three loads I wanted to try after shooting a ladder at the beginning of October. Still need to shoot the other two but ran out of time so 2863 fps will have to do for this season and maybe next year one of the other two will shoot this well or better and get me another 50-100 fps.

Hi All,

Here's a pic of the result of my present .260 load.

6mm @ 100m = 0.21MOA.
Stepped back to 200m. Shooter said up 7 clicks - two too many. Went down two but it started to pour down rain so I didn't get to check it. Strange thing was the first shot. Don't know what happened. Didn't feel wrong. Anyway, the next two are 9mm apart.

Lapua brass
CCI 200 LR primer
Berger 140gr VLD Hunting
ADI AR2209 (rebranded in the US as H4350) 39.8gr

Rifle is a Sako 85 Stainless Laminated Varmint, 600mm (23.622") barrel, 1:8" twist.

Shot off a bipod with rear bag.

Cheers

Just want to correct my previous post. It should read:

Shooter said up 7 clicks - one too many.

Cheers

Now this is one informative thread.

Good Info by the pocket full that will assist me in some future planning.

120 too 140gr range might be what the doctor ordered.
I seen Hornady has the 147gr bullet on the market too.

Very impressed with the 120's and 129gr as they seem to hold their own.

My favorite so far in my .260 Tikka T3 stainless Hunter (22" barrel, Bell and Carlson stock) is:

45.5 gr RL22
Lapua brass
Rem 9 1/2 primer
140 gr Amax or 143 gr ELD-X
2.93 COAL (2.23 CBTO, use a 270 magazine)
2700 MV (Magneto Speed V3)
.5 MOA @ 100 (front rest and rear bag, repeatable)

It makes me smile every time I go to the range!
