25 Creedmoor & 134 ELD-M

I'm attempting to get out a little and do some shooting. Weather was nice today so I took the 25 creedmoor out to the bench and shot a few 3 shot groups. From 39.5 to 42.5 grains of H4350 pushing a 134 ELD-M. The best 2 loads accuracy wise were 41 grains at 2700 with and ES of 2.3 and 42.5 at 2830 with an ES of 6.1. But these shot about quarter MOA. Would you folks call that acceptable out of a 24" barrel?

If the 25 Creed I have shot with that accuracy - I would be very happy with it. As for speed, I got about 2885/2890 with N555 out of a 26" with 135 hybrids. H4350 was 2825/2850 so your numbers look about right IMHO.

Yeah I'd shoot larger groups. But if you're shooting 1/4 minute groups I think you're good. I'm at 42.1g of 4350 with 135 bergers and 2850fps in a 26" tube.

Is your barrel new? Might speed up quite a bit after 100-150 rounds if it hasn't already.

I had one proof barrel that shot 41.5g at 2910. But 2 since then have both been 42g and 42.1g at 2830(proof), and 2850(brux). That's alpha brass, cci450s, and 135s.

I would say **** good. You can still tinker and maybe get it to under .1. There's an Ulitimate Reloader video that Galvin shot .050 with a new 25CM build. May have been 3-4 years ago but it's probably still on his YouTube site. Take a look.

BTW, did either of you try the .257 BadLands 110gr bullets? If so, how did they work out for you? I know they're no longer available.

Yes, you're fine at 1/4 moa. Don't forget dispersion and waste ammo chasing that. By the numbers you will have groups up to 3/4 moa.

This is what I'm doing at a 100 yards 5 shot group with a flyer .7 inch. If they all grouped maybe it would have been .5
I think it was around 2780 fps with a 22 barrel but would have get out the log book.
You guys think they will make the 25 creedmoor a standard cartridge or will it just stay a wildcat?

Saami is coming
Hornady is making headstamped brass now and more available projectile choices.

Saami doesn't really matter to me though, I don't see any advantages to a cartridge becoming standardized besides factory ammo, which I dont shoot.

I think you are leaving alot of velocity on the table at 2700, but that might not matter for what your specific goals are with the load
