25.06 or a 30.06 with a muzzle break?

Vette's got it right. My 11 year old still doesn't like the noise/recoil of even my ar or my 25wssm, but my 6 year old has fired my 12 gauge with 2 3/4" field loads... go figure. No not impose but listen, as they will know what they can handle. A 223 or 243/6rem in a youth model would be my choice for a kid who wants a center fire that can knock down a whitetail, and a step up to 7-08 or the like for mule deer and such.

What if you went to 30-06 with a brake and loaded some 130gr. Bullets close to starting loads I would think the recoil would be like shooting a 223 once she was comfortable with the rifle she can progress to heavier. I would get a popular rifle so you can get replacement stocks as she grows.
