240gr. Mk seating in 300WSM?

TacticalHits, I think the main difference between the 210 VLD and the 208grn A-Max is expansion. From what I have read, the 208grn A-Max will expand better at the longer ranges.

Bountyhunter is right about the twist. I have been hearing the 1-11 to 1-11.5 twist have been working very well with the 300WSM and the 208 to 210grn Bullets.

I think I will send the whole rifle to Hart and have them do the whole re-barrel job. They will square the action, lap the lugs, and install the 30"inch barrel. I will also have them install the choate varminter stock so everything is nice and solid! I plan to send them a dummy round so they can start the lands were I want them.

I was going to get the 1.450 OD barrel, unless you guys think I should go for the 2.0 OD barrel, or have the 1.450 OD barrel fluted? Let me know what you guys think?

Thanks Nathan,

I do not think that stock will take a 1.450 barrel.

You have to have a custom action to hang a 2.0 barrel on and it will cost you around $400-500 for the barrel. Plus it will weigh 20 plus pounds.

I would recommend no heavier than a HV taper to around .900-.950 at most. forget the fluting first time unless you want to spend the money. Put a muzzle brake on and go for it. It will shoot just as accurate as the other.
