.2-.3 100 yard cold bore challenge

This target is from a "Cold Bore Challenge" a number of years ago. The object was to fire your first few shots of the day into one of the bulls-eye and repeat on multiple days. ( from 100 yards )

Count me in, we'll see how the weather looks this weekend.

Couple of appetizers. All shot off front and rear bags. I have been shooting 3rds, trying to prolong my 25-06 barrel life. .223 .308 I usually shoot 10rds.

Attached shows rounds 1,2,3; 1 is a little high from a cold, clean, oiled bore , two and three doubled. Rifle cooled 30 minutes; 4,5,6 clustered real nicely.

.223 shows 20rds. 5 on bottom and side are from tweeking zero. Big old hole is one 10rd magazine. Not particularly proud of the group but it was in my phone, probably snapped the picture to document zero.

Just a thought. Instead of stapling a target to a shot-out backer board we could attach our targets to a thin piece of cardboard first. This would allow seeing each individual shot better, and probably help with group measurement.
