180 Berger .284 Hybrid - Hunting expansion out of 284 win??

I am having a 284 win built and expect a muzzle velocity of approximately 2800 fps with a 180 Berger Hybrid. I know that the hybrids are a well respected hunting bullet but does anyone have any thoughts or hunting experience with them at this velocity (or similar) on deer out to 800 yards?

Personally I'd stop at 575-600 with this combo but everybody has their own preferences

I agree with cohunt. 580 yard deer rifle, 1800fps or 1000ft/lbs, whichever comes first.

Nice thing ive noticed it that usually the 1800fps ties inpretty close in with the 1000 ft lbs in most cases of big game cartridges

I had an F class 284 win and I was shooting the 180s in for a while before moving to the 184s but my 180s where a tad bit faster than you(I had ALOT of barrel). I killed deer in bean fields with that rifle (crop management) out to 600 yards but never shot it further. The 180s expanded well down to about 1900 FPS in these small white tails in early spring. Below 1800 fps I had a couple where I didn't get any expansion for example if it went between ribs etc. I shot some 175 ABLR out of that rifle and they expanded better at 1400 FPS than the Bergers at 1900 fps. Take that for what it's worth.
