15 yearold RCBS Chargemaster quit

I've had my Charge Master for, I think, 15 years. It just quit. I plugged it into another outlet, and Nothing happened. 15 years is pretty good.
What are you all using? How are the RCBS Chargemasters currently on the store shelves?

Same boat. Mine quit a few weeks back after 15 or so years. Called RCBS about repair, they referred me to a company called Lone Mountain Communications for repair. So I contacted LMC. They rebuild units, flat rate pricing. $189 for a charge master 1500 rebuild. I plan to send mine in shortly.

Been using my charge master for over 10 years I know it's coming, but when mine dies I will probably cough up the big bucks for a super trickier.

I ended up buying a power conditioner for my loading scale. I cannot prove it, but I would expect it to extend the useful life since I have some irregular power at times. I did this after upgrading to the AutoTrickler. Something to consider on your next scale. But 15 years is pretty good return on your money.

I had a 1500CM go on the fritz after 10yrs and RCBS replaced it! The replacement is now 12-15yrs old and a year ago I bought a fairly new one as backup. I do believe the problem with the first one was static electricity making the pan read 2/10th off. I am noticing that with both my units in the dead of winter. If I hover the pan near the scale plate the scale moves 2-3 tenths of grain. Wipe it with dryer sheet and all is good. As far as them just crapping out, I haven't had that, yet.

I also altered the dispense speed. It works for some powders, but not all. I will probably put it back to factory default.

Mine quit a couple years ago. Called RCBS, they referred me to an outfit in Phoenix that repairs them. They wanted $175, no way.

I opened it up, all that was wrong was the female connector went bad. I bought a pack of six on Amazon for under $10. Drilled a hole in the side, soldiered a couple wires to the board, and was up and running. Been running ever since.

I looked at the new high in Chargemaster at the NRA Convention, way too sensitive. Just touched the table and it started drifting.

+1 for Lone Mountain. They repaired mine years ago for me. It's been running great since.
