RCBS chargemaster...

Five years for me too, now. No problems. I do like to check mine with my balance beam scale from time to time. So far only great results!

Any update?

Yes, I ended up with a second unit, not from my pocket or RCBS. Once the new unit was up and running I decided to risk my first unit and take it apart. Turned out no trouble shooting needed. The dispensing unit was full of what looked like pistol powder or powder residue. How did it get in? I am unsure. My only idea is the powder was so fine it went through the dispensing tube guides/mounts. A full cleaning and it was up and running. Checked it against the new unit a few times with various charges all seems good. Still strange to me how all that stuff got in it.

I wont be running any fine powder in that unit from now on. I just hope they both keep ticking like those of you who have been running them for a while.

Do many of you use these auto feed measures for precision shooting or is it still better to put it on a beam. I shoot to 750 yards right now but am going to 1000 and past soon. I have been looking at one of these to speed up loading or at least take some hand work out of it, but did not know if they produce precise enough loads for long range or are best for short range rounds.

Thanks for any help here.

Well, what's junk to some is quality to others.

I just ordered one based on the positive experiences posted from a number of members whom are very credible.

Time for me to come out of the dark ages. One step at a time... I'll still have the balance beam scale set up in the loading room.

Paul, I have one Chargemaster at home that I've been using for about seven years. I bought another one for loading 50 BMG at work. I handload about a half dozen calibers regularly. I like how easy the hopper is to empty. The things have worked without much trouble. Occasionally the one at work starts to fill the second I set the pan on the scale. Otherwise, no problems.

Most people don't know that the Chargemaster is programmable. I have a list of functions and syntax somewhere on my computer. I haven't tried to program mine, but may some day.

You won't be disappointed. Look up how to cut a straw and add it to the dispenser and it will meter like a champ.

Junk, my butt!

RCBS a class act!

Goodgrouper hauled his CM all over the country on the pickup's console. After years of this treatment it gave up the ghost. He expected to have to repurchase. Nah! RCBS replaced it gratis....

I know of others that have also been treated very well.

Mine has been working for years.

Roy...

Are you saying that your chargemaster will be around after the 'Master is charged into the ground'....... just say'in.:)

I have got many faulty products from companies I give them the benefit of doubts I would never say anything is junk till multiple attempts to fix the problem with no success
