1000 yard elk with a 6.5?

I'm gonna try those 124's in a 6.5x300, not sure what it will be capable of but should be over 3500 fps, hoping for a little more though. Factory Weatherby rounds in 127 Barnes claim 3531 on the box but my magnetospeed showed slightly under 3500 in a 26" Vanguard that is not fully broken in yet.
You'll pass your goal if you do it right. We're getting 3,500 from a 6.5 Max and the 123 AH... 3,400 out of a PRC with the 124 HH

I have some 123 AH on the way also. I looked on the hammer reloading forums on here and there is not much info for the 6.5x300 as far as powder choices. If anyone that has experience with this caliber has any suggestions on powders , I would appreciate the advice. I have IMR 8133, LRT, Magnum, RL33, RL50, H1000, RL26, H4350, H4831SC, and only 1# of Retumbo though. I have some faster powders if needed. Norma URP and MRP. Edited to add US869.

Decades ago I used to load a duplex load in my .375-8Rem Mag to propel Sierra 300 at 3,006 feet per second. I discovered if the slower powder was against the primer the load acted like the slower powder. With the faster powder against the primer, I achieved significantly better results.
