I'm looking @ getting a starter kit 2 start reloading have a buddy who has a buddy that reloads going n try n get up with him 2 learn.
you will not be able to simply click your scope from a 600 yard zero and hit a deer at 1,000 yards. To attempt to do so...you may as well be ****ing in the wind.
Your 3/4 moa @ 600 yard gun will have you pulling your hair out at 1K.
what is long to u?
"Long" range to me is any time you are challenged to consistently put your first cold bore shot and 4 more follow-ups for group in the 10 ring or kill zone.
I've seen some really good results from Superformance. Single digit ES on 5 shots and .5" @100yds.
So, I won't say that factory ammo will never be good for long range.
I just don't have enough data points to support that assertion statistically. If you handload, you have more control/verification of the quality and consistency and can fine tune to your rifle.
Going. To test superformance in the morning. N hopefuly test it on a deer in the afternoon
