RIFLE SEASON BULLS..PA

I hang out in Pennsylvania elk country many days of the year. Some of the elk there are quite accustomed to seeing humans, but are really not tame. They're wild animals and are spooky as hell. It is amazing how you can see them in the summer and they disappear later in the year. There are millions of acres of national Forest where they hang out and are quite difficult to find at times.

Yep, ask the 50% of the cow rifle tag holders who went home empty handed...everyone thinks your hunting at the visitor center, far far far from it..

Only one photo looks like it wasn't shot in a farmers field. Dang nice bulls though. To be fair, locally here we have state game department lands that have been plowed and planted with grass in several locations because of a flood control dam that took away some habitat.

I hope we've had enough "NAY" saying. Thank the OP for posting for OUR enjoyment and let's just….ENJOY. Just saying.
Nobody is nay saying. It's a hunt that most of us aren't accustomed to and will never see first hand. All hunts have challenges, sometimes the biggest challenge is finding a legal animal, and sometimes the biggest challenge is getting the tag. I personally just want to know more about the hunt. If it entails driving to the nearest ranch and shooting a 400" bull eating out of the grain trough that's fine too.

Don't get all huffy…

Not directly targeting you, but recently there are folks who just can't resist taking a "shot" at well intended post. So, I am not being "huffy", but attempting to keep the post on a positive note. Understand?
