The 14's were just released so many have not even had the chance to look through them. I was fortunate and able to get behind both and spend a few hours using each.

15x Binos are your friend along with the BTX. Much better field of views on the 15x vs 18x from any brand.. Are you just planning to use the btx and no Binos?

I feel handicapped if I'm not behind my Swaro 15's(on a tripod). I don't own a btx but I'm always with my son who carries a Kowa 88 spotter.
He uses his new Swaro 12's most of the time and we only bring out the big glass to break down trophy potential.

I generally rely on Swarovski 8x30 binoculars for casual glassing.
A few years back I bought a pair of 15x56 Bushnell Forge binoculars and tripod mount them for the range and game spotting when afield.
I have been so impressed at the lack of eye strain versus my NightForce TS 80 HD spotting scope when glassing that I only use the NF when needing to really pick apart some shadows or evaluate a critter after finding it with the Forge binoculars.
Sadly, the Forge one has been discontinued but one can still find a set online at a reasonable price these days.
I think you'd enjoy the 15x for ease of glassing big country and then switch to the (edit)BTX/ ATX 65 for dissecting stuff beyond the capability of the 15x.

In New Mexico the terrain changes a lot. One minute you can be in forest and the next you can be in wide open country. I use the BTX quite a bit so I think it is a very terrain specific tool. If you hunt a lot of open areas then the BTX is exceptional.

I'm too cheap, I buy used and wait for a "deal". Thats why I haven't gone for the NLs yet.
I'm thinking the 12x42's will be the option to go with! I've got a friend that has a pair I'm going to try out and if they are as good as everyone sayes, I will probably pull the trigger. That and a new tripod should change the glassing game for me.
