Ranging Binos with ballistics vs Binos & rangefinder with ballistics

I went to the rangefinding binos to get more zoom when ranging longer distances, the Leica 2200 is the ones I went with. Haven't used the ballistics in it, have just been ranging and using the angle to punch into Strelok to get my dope.
I'll have to look into Strelok. Never heard of it. Is it a ballistic app for a phone?

If I'm reading rite, I still need something to dope the wind corrections, and pair it with what ever I'm ranging with?

Yes. There are all sorts of apps out there. Some pair with the newer rangefinders and some don't.

Even if you get all your drop data in the rangefinder, you will still need a way to determine your wind hold.

Have the new leica 32 Pro 10x bino-rangefinder and it works well - deer to a mile. But My Swaro Pure 12x binos are so nice Im forced to keep a separate Sig 8k rangefinder. If only Pure 12x had ranging that would be the ultimate.

You don't have the paten on that!!! Lol That's where I'm at now lol. I don't shoot steel at a 1000 yards. If they will give the rite moa to 700 I'd be happy. This is just for hunting for me. Got to do some studying on energy on my 6.5 Prc, but I think that will be about max with it.
Be aware that the Leica Geovid ballistic table in their Website gives elevation corrections only for Leica scopes, which are in CM, not inches! At least that's the way it was 2 yrs ago when I tried to enter data for a custom ballistic table.

Wow ok That I didn't know. I thought it would do moa .25 or clicks

I've been back and forth on the same subject the last few years. I really like the idea of having a rangefinder and ballistics in my binoculars, but it seems like everything I've found you give some capability within the binoculars, either no wind solutions, poorer ranging capability, less than ideal ballistic solutions, and having a rangefinder within the binoculars (it's actually the LCD readout within the field of view) also diminishes clarity.

I finally landed on running Swaro EL Range TA this last season. The glass is great and the laser and ballistics are ok. I keep them programmed and feel confident out to 500-700ish yards depending on conditions, but I always keep my Revic BR4 rangefinder on hand for anything much longer than 500 yards, or if there are any tricky wind calls needed. Seems to be the best of both worlds. Still have to carry both units, but the binos will handle a lot of the quick/easy/fast scenarios, leaving the BR4 for the heavy hitting.

Does the Revic BR4 dope for wind also?
Yes. It has 2 wind modes you can use in tandem. It provides a constant, full value "Base Wind" that can be set to whatever you want (I usually do a 5mph or 10mph). This works really well for quick wind solutions on the fly. It gives you a drop solution and a wind hold every time you get a range with that setup. From there, you can dial in a specific vector wind by choosing a wind direction and velocity to get a much more fine tuned wind solution.

With a couple minutes using it, both wind modes are seamless and pretty intuitive. It gives you the best of both worlds with options for instant simple solutions and relatively easy advanced solutions depending on the situation.

That's sounds Awesome!!! Not having to Bluetooth unit in the heat of the moment. I'm liking that a lot !!! Thanks

I like my Vortex 5000 HD AB. RF capability is great. A Lica owner tried mine and said the speed of ranging was much faster than his Lica. I like the AB ballistics solutions. Especially that I can input my specific load data for temperature and velocity. Also has the Vortex lifetime warenty.
