Took my son out to our lease for the Texas youth deer weekend once again.....and he killed everything except deer lol. First evening we saw a lone boar at about 6pm, well before sunset and before I even asked him if he wanted to wait or shoot it, he was asking to shoot it. We brought 2 guns this weekend and had the 223 in the blind with us shooting Nosler 64gr bonded bullets and he put one right between the eyes at 85 yards. The next morning we saw a coyote and a large boar but couldn't get him set up to get a shot on either. Then while back at the camp house he decided to close a glass door with his foot and put his foot right through one of the panes so we got a mid day visit to the small local hospital to get stitched up but he was tough and we were back in the blind for the evening hunt. We didn't see any deer or pigs but the coyotes were moving, we had one go by that was really close and caught our wind and movement as we were getting him ready to shoot and didn't get a shot of but a few minutes later we had 2 come trotting by at almost last shooting light and we were able to get them stopped long enough for him to get on one with the 6.5-06 shooting 140 nosler ballistic tips (made a mess) at just over 100 yards. No deer once again (this makes 0-3 for him on youth weekend for deer)....maybe next year. Photos in reverse order.
