Ramshot Grand

The one thing Midway has been doing is having a clearance sale about once a month. I just got 8 -1 pounders for $27.95 a lb tags, title and tax came out in the $35 dollar range and only $223.60 dollars plus $hazmat and shipping. Its a good thing trying to develop and feed loads to 2 300 PRC's and a 300 win mag. Im averaging alround 80 rounds per pound. The good thing is these new recoil brake really work and help bunches. I shot sporting clay competition tournaments for years and have a pretty tough ole shoulder and have wrung out 35 or 40 rounds a couple times a week without any bruises. Im finding the Grand powder to be very accurate and burns as clean as any powder I have ever shot.

300 PRC virgin Lapua brass, Federal Match 215M primers, Hammer HHT 203 grain, Rifle is Christiansen Arms Mesa LR 26" barrel 1:8 twist
1. H1000 burns cleaner than Grand. Grand is cleaner than Hornady Factory ammo.
2. H1000 was a little faster than Grand with the same load.
3. Grand SD and Spread were much better than H1000

I used a digital Lyman powder scale to measure 74 - 76 grain loads in .5 grain increments. I only used exact measurements. If it was +/- 0.1 grain or more I dumped and dispensed again.

good info. Did you hit pressure or see signs of pressure? What was the case fill/remaining capacity? Thanks

Great info. This will be helpful for a number of projects for me. Any apparent accuracy advantages? Were these 3 shot groups?

It sounds like Grand is indeed (as Hogdon has claimed) very similar to H1000. Very helpful info, given that we don't yet have QuickLoad data for it. Thanks Stazmania!

Accuracy was an issue with both. I think I've got another carbon ring and some fouling. Will know after my borescope arrives Friday. These were 5 shot groups, the Grand was a little better than the H1000 but both were within 1.5 inch. I still have some work to do for the accuracy.
