I was told that RL-17 is one of the most temp-sensitive powders in the market. I have been using it on my: 300 WSM (and others) and 215 Berger for nearly 10 years without issues. The temperature range from my final load development to hunting season is <30Ā°F. Like you, I got them in case I could not get temp-stable powders. I got better velocity and accuracy with RL-17 than with H1000 and H4831 SC. I use Magnum, too, but not as extensive as the RL-17. MagPro is another powder that I have had very good success. The beauty of reloading is experimentation and safely establishing a knowledge base through trial and error. As with anything else, YMMV. Good luck with your trade.I have enough trouble with load development sometimes I don't know why I'd use a powder that was temp sensitive. I have 5 pounds of this magnum I bought in case I couldn't get h1000. Might have to just get rid of it haha. Anybody wanna trade for grand for magnum
