2024 Dove Season

No pictures and too hot for dogs unfortunately. 4 of us went to our spot in central California. Almost all limited out. Best year we've had in a while.

That is the ONLY way Dove should be cooked. Period!

I found soaking the Dove in the juice of the canned jalapeño does wonders for it.

It's just a shame how low the limit is. Luckily, we have Eurasian Dove multiplying. I don't know about states outside Texas, but they don't count towards your limit here.
I'm gonna try the jalapeño juice, good idea. Lots of collared dove in az as well.

I picked up a cz 20g sxs and left the franchi in the safe. Had a great start to the year in arizona. Gotta keep an eye out for spicy nope ropes. Got my limit in 45 minutes each day.

Wife and I went out last Sunday, and then again this morning, we usually hit a couple of spots with watering holes near the border and do pretty good.

First year ever that we don't run in to a rattler, but we did see lots of gambel's quail, so quail season should be good too.

We'll wrap them in bacon and grill them in kabobs with some veggies. Trying the jalapeño slice in them this year.
