I was looking at the Aa but haven't found it local yet and if I have it shipped in it comes out to $50 a pound or I can get other powders local for 45

I just can't believe the price of powder. I am just using up some old stock of IMR 4350. 1 pound cans had a sticker on them for $22.00. I purchased 1 pound cans recently for $62.00 - $64.00. I also purchased a 8 pound keg for $450. Crazy. But, everything is up in price. If you shoot often, it gets expensive.
Yes it is getting very expensive. To help my shooting addiction I'm going back to reloading homemade black powder and casting my own bullets. I'm wanting to start loading 12 gage with black powder also. I tried it with the plastic pads but had pretty bad plastic fouling in barrel. Need to use fiber wads

I was thinking the same thing, and I do have a long rifle that I like to play with. Homemade black powder? I'm not that brave. It's not so much shooting it that scares me. It's the manufacturing process that scares me.
I think you are probably correct about the wads. The fiber wads will probably work better for you. Correct me if I'm wrong but, I think you need a wad between the powder and shot and another wad on top of the shot.
Yes I don't have a whole lot of data for black powder but yes you are correct. Over Powder card,fiber wad the over shot card is optional unless roll crimping then it's a must.
I'm not to worried about making small batches of black powder just tumbling it is the most worrying thing. I won't do anymore than 300 grams at a time.

Making own powder sounds a little crazy to me but that's how powder company's started
If your interested in black powder take a look at Everything black powder on YouTube. Jake is a master at making fast powder.
I even got into making my own non-corrosive primers. But that really is a very tedious process. It works quite well however.

A lot of shotgun powders wont get you into the 1300 fps zone,

Thanks for the info I would agree not all the powders will get to the 1300 after reading the data I would like to use some WSF there is just none local right now and have it shipped makes it really spendy when I find some local I will grab some and try for sure
