Load data for 6.5 prc

3200 FPS with a 140 Berger???!!! Same guy trashing people claiming 2900 with a Creedmoor.

Sure the gun may do it...not for long.

There are a few folks on here using 124gr Hammer Hunters with N565. 3200-3300 FPS ish.

I've had good luck with Reloder 16 and 127 LRX (just under 3200 as I recall). Also Reloder 26, Retumbo, and H1000 with 156 EOL.

There are a few "interesting" loads there. I've never been able to shoot 140gr bullets at over 3,200fps from my 24" Bartlein. 156gr Bergers at nearly 3,000fps is really hauling the mail in a PRC.
Good info but start low.

I long ago learned that I can make a round go any speed that my ego wants it to.............

I shoot the 124 Hammers on occasion. Anything much over 3,200fps and I see the early signs of pressure. The 140 Berger Elite Hunters are comfortable at 3,000fps but pushing them faster (in my rifle) just never seemed to work out, pressure-wise.

My best load is 140gr ELD-M with 59gr H1000 (I'm at 1900 ft). I can shoot 4 shots touching at 200 yards at 3028 fps with an ES of 4.5 fps and SD of 1.9 fps. I've shot it out to 980 yards at the range multiple times without a problem. Going to try the 143gr ELD-X next for more of a hunting bullet. I've also shot a 123gr ELD-M with 56.8gr H1000, super light load at only 2970 fps but it also shoots 4 shots touching at 200.
