Brux vs ace barrels

I bought an Ace on Saturday. I've never gotten the impression some of the bigger, old time barrel makers have really drilled down the how and why of what's going on with bullets and barrels like the Ace guy did on the shoot2hunt podcast. Could be wrong, time will tell.
I listened to that podcast as well. They guy definitely nerds out on stuff.

I have 2 ACE barrels, they hammer! Buddy just got an ACE barrel back from the smith and his first 10 shots were within 0.5 moa and was hitting steel out past 1K with factory ammo.

That is one of the biggest reasons I have started using Pac Nor . They will make an exact copy of the old barrel which saves a ton of stock work.

You won't get that from Ace Barrels....I think they are 8-10 weeks out right now.

Anyone have experience validating this?

I ordered an "In-stock" blank from Unknown on 11/16 that was supposed to ship before xmas. I interpreted "in-stock" as in they had it on order to be received soon. Hasn't shipped yet.

Nice! Just got an update on the delayed blank I have on order today.

Background: I had seen somewhere that ACE tends to use tighter bore dimensions I.E. 0.218" 22s and 0.236" 6mms in some of their blanks so I asked unknown what bore diameter their "in-stock" blanks had since it wasn't specified. They said to tell them what spec i wanted and they'd make sure it matches. So I specified that I wanted a .219 bore 22 blank. Today they sent me an update that ACE lost their 0.219 bore tooling in shipping and will start making 0.219 blanks next week. Would have been cool to know that prior to 11 weeks into my "in-stock" order.

Cuz of bad carbons they refuse to acknowledge. Several here and other places. Myself and 2 other good shooters I know personally, won't group for crap. They told me they're too busy with stuff overseas to even QC it, sent it in September, confirmed they had it, confirmed they haven't looked at it with lame @$$ excuses , and crickets........f em. Bartlein can pound sand. I just picked up 2 brux #5 25 cal 7.5tw blanks, ones getting it with an oddball deep set 25cm chamber I'll form 7saw brass in, will be over 3" with extra freebore on a Tikka, the other a 25prc for a bat bumblebee in the new unknown munitions 3.150 bottom metal. Also have some ace blanks at the smith, 2x 6.5mm 7.5tw that'll be my nrl hunter barrels this year, and a 30cal 9tw that'll be a 21" 300 norma imp. My smith needs to get busy! Winter/spring is usually when my load development gets done, before match season gets running hot and heavy.
I thought I was the only one who had that experience. I was told that debris can be sucked in the barrel after its fired as pressure stabilizes. A google search of a bullet being fired with High speed photography tells me different. Thank goodness there are other manufacturers such as Brux, Krieger, etc . It did teach me the importance of borescope inspection of a barrel before chambering.

Brux makes around 1500 barrels per year, get in line.

I used to get hung up on cut barrels, not anymore. Hart, Pac Nor, Lilja are making some incredible barrels, and all the Shilen's that I have shoot bug holes.

Bore scope inspection prior to chambering is critical. Krieger's customer service after the sale is simply fantastic in all regards, and they deserve a shout out.

^^^Agree^^^
Get in line for Krieger barrels too.
Next month will be one year that I ordered 6 BRUX barrels and they have them on the schedule to be done in December.
Mullerworks , now called lights out carbon barrels, is doing good work lately with a new owners they're roughly 5 to 6 weeks out. Their carbon fiber barrels take much longer, but are simply amazing.
