Hey guys,
I have a Benelli super black eagle 3 and am curious what some of you think about the gap between the bell and rear sight. I could possibly have a gunsmith remove the rear sight but would rather just leave it. These are medium Nightforce rings and already sit pretty high compared to the stock so I'm worried going higher will only give me a bad cheek weld. I can fit a credit card under it or 10 pieces of paper. I'm guessing the barrel wouldn't flex where it meets the action but wanted to see what other people would do. Call it good, have a smith remove the back sight, or go to high rings and be forced to use a cheek pad to help with cheek weld? I appreciate the advice

Not pushed into a dovetail. The rear and front sight are both fixed without screws so must be some kind of adhesive. Hard to get a good picture but that's a #2 and a little indent from the pin holding the rest of the sight in. Not a screw

You're probably right, may be a little adhesive.
I think I would try a little heat, using a heat gun or similar. Not turning the thing red hot but enough to loosen the adhesive. If that doesn't work then maybe just leave it alone.
Keep us posted and good luck
