I have reloaded the 30 Gibbs. It's been a while so i'll tell you what i remember. I used virgin 30-06 Remington brass. I didn't anneal the brass and had zero case failures. I used a Lyman .338 inside neck sizer to open up the neck. then I ran the brass through the .30 Gibbs resizing diei down in steps until I barely close the bolt. I then loaded it with a .30-06 starting load of H414 behind a Remington 150 grain Corelokt bullet. You could probably use a max load of 5744 powder and get good results. I worked up loads with H414 because I had lots of it. My max load was just about a full case. I didn't have a chronograph so I don't know what my velocity. was. The case capacity was about the same as the .300 SAUM so I'd suspect the velocity should be about the same. I would like to work a load using Hodgdon superformance. Although it has to be built on a long action, it feeds better than the .300 Saum and you can carry more ammunition in the Magezine.
