Im getting a new barrel and thinking of going Ackley Improved, I dont necessarily need your exact load recipe but am interested in what muzzle velocities with projectile weights anyone is getting with the 25-06AI?
I just want to compare the extra velocities your getting to see if its worth going AI for me. Not a lot of 25-06AI info out there but from what Ive read its about a 100 to 200fps gain...?

25-06 AI (NORMA 25-06 brass) 26" 1-7.5" twist

Sub 0.5 moa @ 3220 fps
131 blackjacks

Sub 0.3 moa 3295 fps
115 Berger VLD

One of my most favorite to hunt sheep and deer!!
Nice, thank you for sharing, those are nice velocities and thank you for including your barrel length I forgot about that part. It seems like the AI makes the caliber shine nicely. I need to decide soon.

I've owned both the standard 25-06 and the 25-06 improved version and in my experience as a deer and hog hunter I much prefer the standard version. When you start driving 100 grain bullets way over 3200 fps the result is un-predictable on larger game. Ok as a varmint rifle but not as a big game rifle. The 25-06 is a good big game rifle with 120 grain bullets.

Not if your shooting monos , like Hammers or Barnes you can't drive them too fast or over spin them Hammer also makes a 117 gr that would work well in a 1-8 twist

When I had mine it shot the 115 Berger's at 3350 FPS. It was a 26" Krieger 10 twist. For me H1000 performed the best. Barrel was toast, so for something different I went with a 1-7.25" twist 25-284. Enjoying it so far. I wouldn't hesitate to build a 25-06 AI.

As Hard Rock said Mono's are the meal ticket
