Why no love for the Sig optics?

Hey guys, just wondering why there's no love out here for the sig optics? I bought a tango 6 on a good sale. From all the reviews I've read, the glass is supposed to be on par with the atacr. It's FFP with illuminated reticle, has electronic level, zero stop, and locking turrets. Seems like a very feature rich optic for the price. The tracking reviews I've read said it tracts as close to perfect as possible, something like 0.4% error. Other than the fact it weighs a ton, what's not to like?

Sig makes a nice optic. The whisky 5 3-15x44 with the moa milling reticle is a great hunting option, weighs 22oz if I recall, illuminated locking turrets and digital level. Not a bad choice. I wonder what they'll have new at shot this year.

I think because they are still relatively new. There's no fad with sig yet. You rarely see the "tactical" community using them. You don't see dudes at ko2m using them. I don't even see people on hunting shows using them. Unfortunetly, I think things like that really shape the market as much as I don't agree with it. I've not hear to much negative feed back on their optics so, chances are it's just not being advertised as hard as the tried and true fads out there.

The one show I have seen is "the crush" they use all sig stuff.

I have a whiskey 5. It's a good scope for the money. My leupold is better glass to my eyes. The sig also seems to have a smaller eye box too.

I also have a whiskey5 - it wouldn't track or hold zero so I sent it back...i had a horrible experience with their customer service (the write up is posted on here somewhere) finally they replaced it. They told me there was no way their scope wouldn't hold zero and it was me. The glass on the whiskey5 is HD and much better than the PST(i have both), but their quality and customer service is their biggest hold up. I mounted the replacement on my 204, but have't had a chance to run it very hard yet, so the jury is still out on it for me...

They also started out with that graphite gray color that I wasn't super pumped about...their gen 2 stuff has a matte black option, which is way better.

I read your thread. That sucks you were treated that way.

Yeah, not crazy about the color either, but I was going to color match it to my rifle anyway.

Meh...Sig is just an importer/specifier. They don't own a factory making any of their optics. Maven, some Leupolds and many other optics are made in the same factories as Sig to same or very similar specs.

Correct.

Sig bought up some good people from Leupold who knew where the suppliers were and what to pay for stuff.

I like the product but I'm concerned Sig as a company is a little manic right now, they may regret all this expansion in the near future when all the chickens come home to roost.
