120's would have been better choice IMO. I use 110gr ttsx in my 270win and the last deer I shot with it he dropped like a rock.

I don't doubt it, but now I'm back to Bergers or Hammers.

I shoot both. No need to limit yourself in my opinion. Plus, "Boogers" are a bit cheaper for those range sessions.

Use the sway function bud, there are hundreds pages of information on Hammers, it's the best hunting bullet on the market IMHO

I shoot 177hh out of a 284 long action @ 2820fps. Had kills out to 600 yards and bullet performance has been perfect. The only one I've recovered is from a bear at 400 yards. It was just starting to break the skin on the exit. My personal experience they don't need to go super fast. Just my 2 cents from a dozen animals killed with that set up.

The majority of my animals taken with Hammers are blacktail deer. So on the real big side 160lbs. I just love the lack of meat damage while delivering drop dead performance. Had great results with 177s @ more moderate velocity is all I'm saying. Not trying to start sh@#.
